Physical Education

Physical Education is an essential part of a child’s social and physical development and all children are expected to participate.

Our PE lessons are planned and delivered by All For Sport which is an established ‘teaching and learning’ organisation, delivering high quality physical education in primary schools, since 2003.

All for Sport believe physical education is fundamental and offer high quality teaching and learning and sports coaching, which fulfils the curriculum requirements for KS2; Games (Striking & Fielding, Invasion, Net Wall), Athletics, OAA, Dance and Gymnastics. Their aim is to maximise each individual’s learning potential; promoting competitive and participative sport, making physical activity an enjoyable part of school life.

Our P.E. specialists, teachers and coaches ensure all pupils have access to high quality teaching, through differentiated, engaging and challenging lessons. All PE staff receive continuous training and development, and use the interactive scheme of work.

Our lessons are structured to challenge pupils’ physical, social and cognitive learning, with each lesson bespoke to suit the needs of a particular class.

Pupils at Deansbrook can also participate in the football and netball teams and they can also compete in the swimming gala, dance festival and borough-wide athletics meets which are inter school competitions.

We currently run after school clubs in:

  • table tennis
  • football
  • karate
  • seated volleyball
  • cricket (Autumn/Summer terms)
